Vegan French Toast
This vegan French toast should be on every food radar. Our simple guide with the dos and don’ts of French toast means breakfast has never been easier!
Servings 2 people
Cut the bread into triangles.
Blend the milk, water, flour, half the sesame seeds, the salt, and turmeric together well.
Soak the bread in the milk mix in a wide bowl for about 30 seconds, pressing the bread down so it soaks up the mixture.
Meanwhile, heat up a pan on medium heat and add the oil/margarine.
Cook the bread until golden brown on both sides, roughly 3 minutes each side. If it needs longer, give it some extra so it’s nice and crispy.
Feel free to put your own spin on this recipe! Chopped baby tomatoes or mashed avocado, salt, lemon and a little oil. Garnish with basil. Hummus. Whatever your other fave toppings are!
For a sweeter version try 2 drops vanilla essence and 1 tsp cinnamon in place of the turmeric. Top with favourite sweet toppings – sugar and strawberries, for example!
You can swap the buckwheat flour for another type of flour – it just happens to be our favourite!
Go here if you fancy eggy bread instead.
