You need to try this fruit salad with yogurt for breakfast! It’s loaded with yummy fresh fruit and yogurt that is high in protein, plus it takes barely any time to prepare! There’s really no better way to start the day.

We’ve taken the idea of a simple fruit salad recipe… and given it a health and flavor makeover. The result is a fresh fruit salad, served over creamy Greek yogurt, and sprinkled with chia and pumpkin seeds.

Fruit salad with yogurt: 2 steps to a healthy breakfast!

So: what exactly is in this healthy fruit salad recipe?

In terms of fruit, we have strawberries, blueberries, a banana, an apricot and a dragon fruit. Don’t worry if you can’t get hold of a dragon fruit – I substituted an apple!

With all those berries in it, we like to think of this as a summer fruit salad. And in the current absence of summer, it’ll at least make you dream of warmer days!

The hardest thing you’ll have to do to prepare this easy fruit salad recipe is chop up the fruit – and that’s a doddle!

Then you just assemble it with Greek yogurt, sprinkle the seeds and drizzle some honey and there you have it! Breakfast is served.

Why Greek yogurt is the BEST breakfast for your body

The thing that elevates this recipe from a plain old fruit salad to a weight loss fruit salad is primarily the yogurt element (though fruit itself can be beneficial to weight loss – check out the best weight loss fruits here).

A fruit salad recipe with yogurt is on a whole new level. It’s an incredible source of protein for vegetarians, which is great if you want to lose weight, because protein helps you feel full. We use Greek yogurt in this recipe, which contains 14g protein per 140g serving!

We chose to make this a greek yogurt bowl rather than a standard yogurt fruit bowl because Greek yogurt is actually higher in protein and lower in carbs than normal yogurt, making it even better for weight loss.

But don’t worry if you can’t get hold of Greek yogurt. Natural yogurt and vegan yogurt are also great. We would recommend Skyr. It is super low in fat and very high in protein.

Either of these would go perfectly in our FREE Vegetarian Weight Loss Meal Plan!
