Ingredients
For the Hummus
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 can chickpeas (15oz = 435g)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp cumin, ground
- ½ lemon
- 1 tbsp tahini
- 1 clove garlic
Veggie and Bread
- 4 carrot
- 4 gherkins
- 2 slice wholegrain bread
Instructions
Hummus
- For extra creaminess; drain and rinse the chickpeas, add into a pot and fill up with water so that the chickpeas are just covered. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes until the chickpeas are extra soft.1 can chickpeas
- Sieve the chickpeas, then add them into a food processor with all the other ingredients for the hummus. Blitz a couple of times until creamy.½ tsp cumin, ground, 1 tbsp tahini, 1 clove garlic
- Taste test and adjust with salt, lemon and olive oil. Done.½ tsp salt, ½ lemon, 1 tbsp olive oil
Other Veggies
- Use whatever veggies you like and cut them into dip-friendly shapes. Enjoy with bread.4 carrot, 4 gherkins, 2 slice wholegrain bread
NOTES
Making your own hummus is totally optional! There are good brands out there, feel free to save some time and pick a pack from the fridge.
